Greg Korbee
The Mastering Legal English programme is owned and managed by Greg Korbee. Greg is a Dutch-Canadian lawyer-linguist and legal trainer who delivers successful and well regarded courses on legal English, legal writing and legal drafting. He also assists Dutch lawyers, civil-law notaries and tax advisers with the drafting and writing of English-language agreements, deeds and other documents and with the editing of English legal texts. He has 15 years of experience in providing high-quality training and support to Dutch legal professionals.
Somen Becker
The founder of the Practical Legal English programme is Somen Becker. He was for 25 years a legal English specialist in teaching in-firm and in-company courses to advocaten, civil-law notaries and in-house counsel at several of the largest law firms and companies in the Netherlands. He is a former South African solicitor with practical legal experience both as a solicitor and as in-house counsel to the merchant banking arm of a large multinational. He later trained and worked in England as a teacher, specializing in English as a Second Language. He has lived and worked in the Netherlands since 1986. He retired in 2013.
